I remember the day well, it was a bright morning in mind June in Dubai, the sun was splitting the stones. I had got up that morning with a keen sense of foreboding in the back of my mind that something great was about to unfold. Making my way down the stairs, been careful to avoid all the kids toys as I manovured towards the kitchen. Making my way towards the fridge I took a moment to glance at all the photos, memories frozen in time, exotic locations, previous escapes from a by gone time. Feeling my phone vibrating, I reached into my pocket and brought the screen towards my eyes, it’s screen far too bright for my hazy morning eyes. I answered the phone somewhat unsurely as I did not recognise the number. The caller informed me that they had my order from games planet and were ready to deliver it. After exchanging delivery details and timing I hung up the call and went back to preparing breakfast in the kitchen. It wasn’t long after breakfast when the doorbell rang, it’s ring echoing throughout the house. Moving towards the entrance I grabbed my face mask and checked through the door peephole, seeing that the delivery man was also wearing a mask I proceeded to open the door, and hand him the requisite amount of cash. Upon receipt of the cash the driver handed me the product and we bid farewell. Checking the product, it shimmered in the light as it still had its plastic covering. Opening the package I checked it’s contents and all looked in order. I put the package on the shelf and continued on my day knowing that someday soon I would be able to binge and gorge upon its hours and hours or original content.
